Characteristic discontinuities and free boundary problems for hyperbolic conservation laws

Abstract:

We are concerned with entropy solutions of hyperbolic systems of conservation laws in several space variables. The Euler equations of gas dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) are prototypes of hyperbolic conservation laws.
