Abstract:

SpoIIAA is a key component in the network of interactions that regulate the first sporulation-specific transcription factor, sigma(F), in Bacillus subtilis. In its unphosphorylated form SpoIIAA is either phosphorylated by or forms a non-covalent complex with SpoIIAB, whereas in its phosphorylated form it is dephosphorylated by SpoIIE.
