The Return to Europe: the Final Stage

Abstract:
Looks at the success of CEE in capitalism and democracy building; EU policies in the region and the rationale guiding them; and evaluates European re-unification. It argues that the considerable sacrifice of their newly gained sovreignity has given the new accession states access to EU resources and decision-making, moving them from the periphery of Europe towards its stable and affluent centre.
