Further actions are needed to prevent maternal deaths from epilepsy.

Abstract:
We read with interest the manuscript by Razaz et al1 which documented increased risks of a range of pregnancy complications in women with epilepsy. Reassuringly, there was no additional increased risk associated with AED therapy. It is important to note, however, that this large study did not have the power to examine the severest of maternal outcomes, maternal mortality.
