The Cistercian grange in southern England before 1350

Abstract:

This thesis makes a contribution to later medieval archaeology by presenting a new archaeological view of the nature and distinctiveness of Cistercian granges in southern England, thus providing a pointer to the nature of those elsewhere in Britain. No similar extensive study has been undertaken before.
