Characterisation of internal heat transfer mechanisms in transpiring porous media using optical diagnostics

Abstract:

This paper presents a methodology to infer the internal heat transfer characteristics of a porous Ultra High Temperature Ceramic (UHTC) for use in transpiration cooling. Heated carbon dioxide (CO2 ) is effused through a porous zirconium diboride (ZrB2 ) sample into static atmosphere.
