Building on a solid baseline: Anticipatory biases in attention

Abstract:
We revisit a seminal study using brain imaging to investigate spatial attention in human visual cortex. We reflect on the study's important novel contributions at the time and illustrate how subsequent studies have built on its legacy to change our understanding of the neural basis of attention.
