Abstract:

Hyperandrogenism and chronic anovulation are the most common endocrine disorders of premenopausal women. Most patients have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which is essentially benign, but might be associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity; PCOS is associated with specific endocrine and ultrasonographic features.
