This paper discusses a method of measuring the instantaneous exhaust gas temperature by thermocouples. Measuring the exhaust gas temperature is useful for a better understanding of engine processes. Thermocouples do not measure the instantaneous exhaust gas temperature because of their limited dynamic response.
