Macrophage-specific gene expression: current paradigms and future challenges.

Abstract:

Cells of the mononuclear phagocyte lineage include macrophages, microglia, osteoclasts, and myeloid dendritic cells. These cell types are all derived from blood monocytes, which are the product of hematopoietic stem cell differentiation.
