A study of the activation of CdTe/CdS thin film solar cells using OBIC
- Abstract:
- High resolution Optical Beam Induced Current (OBIC) has been used to investigate the effect of a post-deposition chloride treatment on thin film polycrystalline p-CdTe/n-CdS/ITO/glass solar cells. The light beam was focused through the glass front of the cells, and the induced current maps recorded as a function of bias voltage, hence generating illuminated I-V curves for each pixel investigated. The results were interpreted in terms of a distribution of diode responses. Trends in behaviour upon varying the chloride treatment and errors are discussed.
