Byblos in the Late Bronze Age: interactions between the Levantine and Egyptian worlds

Abstract:

This thesis investigates the position and role of the Lebanese city of Byblos in the local and international context of the Late Bronze Age Levant, when the city was a “contact zone” between the Near East and Egypt. In spite of its central role in the regional geopolitical landscape, Byblos has attracted relatively little attention among scholars.
