(a), (b), (c), and (d) are 1-dimensional uPL maps taken before and after fabrication of photoresist disks on top of waveguides. Each map shows the photoluminescence intensity at points along a waveguide as a function of position and wavelength. The SU-8 disk is located approximately at the centre of the position axis. In (b) and (d) it can be seen that new optical modes were created near the centre of the waveguides at wavelengths around 1255 nm.

(e) and (f) are higher resolution uPL spectra taken at the centre of the cavity mode on each device.
