The regulation of monocyte recruitment and macrophage retention into the vascular wall and heart are critical in the progression of cardiovascular disease but also to repair and remodelling after myocardial infarction (MI). Chemokines regulate leukocyte recruitment through G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signalling.
