Randomised controlled trial of intrapleural streptokinase in community acquired pleural infection.
BACKGROUND: Standard treatment for pleural infection includes catheter drainage and antibiotics. Tube drainage often fails if the fluid is loculated by fibrinous adhesions when surgical drainage is needed.
