Transition metal-directed self-assembly of calix[4]arene based dithiocarbamate ligands.

Abstract:

The transition metal-directed self-assembly of dithiocarbamate ligand functionalized upper and lower rim calix[4]arenes affords novel dimeric bimetallic bis(calix[4]arene) species as determined by a combination of analytical methods including X-ray crystallography. An exception is a zinc(II) dithiocarbamate upper rim calix[4]arene assembly which is monomeric in nature.
