Prediction of fatigue crack growth rates in Ti-6Al-4V alloy

Abstract:

Crack initiation under thermo-mechanical fatigue is analyzed with consideration given to oxidation and creep strain accumulation. Transitions and interactions between different mechanisms, crack initiation and crack propagation rates display significant scaling and size effects.
