Electron spin resonance studies of the hole-doped quasi one-dimensional cuprate (Ca0.80Y0.20)(0.82)CUO2

Abstract:

Electron spin resonance (ESR) and magnetic susceptibility studies have been performed on polycrystalline samples of the quasi one-dimensional cuprate (Ca0.80Y0.20)0.82CuO2 for which the formal Cu valence is +2.20. The magnetic behavior of the compound is accurately described by a contribution from alternating Heisenberg chains (ACH), and a Curie-Weiss (CW) component, which appears undetected in our ESR experiments.
