Invasive nontyphoidalSalmonella(iNTS) disease is a neglected disease with high mortality in children and HIV-positive individuals in sub-Saharan Africa, caused primarily by Africa-specific strains ofSalmonella entericaserovars Typhimurium and Enteritidis.
