Abstract:

This dissertation examines the Japanese foreign policy towards Central Asia (CA) from 1991 to 1997. Through the theoretical lens of neo-classical realism, this research analyses the Japanese attempt in the period to transfer economic power into influence, both political and economic, in CA.
