MORE ACCURATE MASS FOR HE-8

Abstract:
The Mg26(, He8)Mg22 reaction was reinvestigated at a bombarding energy of 110.6 MeV with a magnetic spectrometer-multiwire proportional counter detection system, leading to an improved value for the mass excess of He8 of 31.570.03 MeV. NUCLEAR REACTIONS Mg26(, He8), E=110.6 MeV; He8 measured mass excess; compared mass predictions. © 1974 The American Physical Society.
