The great advances in computer technology in recent years have enabled research workers with access to a computer to delegate the essentially repetitive and routine chore of statistical computation to the computer and thereby not only to obtain reliable results very much quicker but also to devote more time to other aspects of experimentation, such as the design, control and interpretation of experiments.
