Some magnetic resonance experiments on solids

Abstract:

Since the first observation of nuclear magnetic resonance (n.m.r.) in ferromagnetic cobalt (1), n.m.r. has been used extensively to study the electron-nucleus hyperfine interaction in magnetically ordered materials (2). This thesis describes an unsuccessful attempt to extend such studies to the magnetically ordered phases of terbium and holmium metals.
