Abstract:

Patients with work-related respiratory symptoms caused by inhaled acid anhydrides (trimellitic (TMA), phthalic (PA), tetrachlorophthalic (TCPA), and maleic anhydrides) have specific IgE antibody. The antibody is specific for a conjugate of the sensitizing anhydride (the hapten) and human serum albumin (HSA).
