ELECTROMAGNETIC-TRANSITIONS IN F-19

Abstract:

The 19F(p, p′γ)19F reaction and Ge(Li) detectors were used to study the decay schemes of the 19F 3.91 and 4.55 MeV levels. The 3.91 MeV level was observed to decay mainly to the ground state, and two closely spaced levels were found at 4.549 and 4.558 MeV excitation. The former is identified as a 5 2+ level and the assignment of the latter is limited to 3 2- or 1 2- with 3 2- preferred.
