Abstract:

Endometriosis is a chronic, incurable condition associated with debilitating pain and subfertility that affects ~176 million women worldwide. It is a complex, heterogeneous disorder of unknown aetiology defined by the presence of endometrial-like tissue (lesions) outside the uterus.
