The biosynthesis of intestinal mucoproteins

Abstract:

These investigations have been concerned with the biosynthesis of a well-defined mucin fraction obtained by papain digestion from sheep colonic mucosal scrapings. This mucin fraction which accounted for 12.2% of the total dry weight of the tissue contained 3 anionic components.
