Mapping inequalities in London

Abstract:

London is a divided city whose divisions are often discussed, but far less often revealed, through cartographic visualization. By looking at five key indicators, this paper provides an introductory overview of the spatial divides that exist within London using a novel cartographic technique. The paper discusses education, child poverty, income, employment in the financial industry, and life expectancy, and looks at the existing spatial patterns of these indicators.
