Learning outside the classroom: An inquiry into how Outdoor Learning can assist in the school’s mission statement to meet the needs of the learners

Abstract:

This study investigates the potential use of Outdoor Learning, specifically Beach School, as a way to meet the needs of the learners. A Beach School Unit of Inquiry was developed following the principles of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme Curriculum in the local area.
