A DIRECT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN E=TI-L BOND-ANGLE AND TI=E BOND-LENGTH CAN EXIST IN [TI(E)L(4)] COMPLEXES (E=ORGANOIMIDO OR OXO)

Abstract:
Evidence for a 'direct' relationship between E=Ti-L bond angle and Ti=E bond length in five-coordinate complexes [Ti(E)L4] (E=organoimido or oxo) is presented and is supported by extended-Hückel molecular orbital calculations; the crystal structure of [Ti(tmtaa)(NC6H 3Me2-2,6)] is described (H2tmtaa= tetramethyldibenzotetraaza[14]annulene).
