Rhythmic crowd bobbing on a grandstand simulator

Abstract:

It is widely accepted that concerted human activity such as bouncing or bobbing can excite cantilever grandstands. Crowd coordination can be unwitting and may be exacerbated by structural motion caused by resonant structural response.
