Functional assessment of morphological homoplasy in stem-gnathostomes

Abstract:

Osteostraci and Galeaspida are stem-gnathostomes, occupying a key phylogenetic position for resolving the nature of the jawless ancestor from which jawed vertebrates evolved more than 400 million years ago.
