Most cases of adult-onset (AO) GH deficiency (GHD) result from the presence of hypothalamo-pituitary tumors or their treatment. GH replacement is now widely used in adults with hypopituitarism, but its effect on hypothalamo-pituitary tumor growth or recurrence is unknown.
