Abstract:

Mitochondria fulfill a wide range of functions in the plant cell, including producing ATP, providing carbon skeletons for biosynthesis, and biosynthesizing vitamins and cofactors. Recently, mitochondria have been implicated in the pathway of programmed cell death in plant cells.
