CMR is a comprehensive non-invasive tool capable of evaluating all aspects of valvular heart disease. It has advantages over echo including direct quantification of regurgitant lesions, highly accurate assessment of ventricular size and function, visualisation myocardial scar, and interrogation of extracardiac abnormalities.
