A novel cell and procedure is described which permits the quantitative mechanistic study of ultrasonically enhanced reactions which occur at solid/liquid interfaces. A model of a controlled and calculable time-average rate of mass transport to and from the interface is used in order to compare experimental results with theoretical predictions based on mechanistic reaction schemes.
