Literacy Disorders

Abstract:
Summary: Disorders of reading accuracy (dyslexia) stem from phonological and decoding difficulties, while reading comprehension disorders are associated with oral language impairments. The educational expression of these common dimensional disorders is modified by co-morbid conditions and by protective factors. Implications for assessment and intervention are discussed. © 2011 John Wiley and Sons, Ltd.
