NGF-TrkA signaling in sensory nerves is required for skeletal adaptation to mechanical loads in mice

Abstract:

Sensory nerves emanating from the dorsal root extensively innervate the surfaces of mammalian bone, a privileged location for the regulation of biomechanical signaling.
