The state oil monopoly in Brazil is exercised by the National Department of Fuels (Departamento Nacional de Combustiveis - DNC - which replaced the former Conselho Nacional do Petróleo - CNP) as the regulator and controller of all oil-related activities, and by Petrobras as the executor of the monopolised activities.
