Introduction: The 2012 HRS/EHRA/ECAS guidelines encourage pre-procedural transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) prior to ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF), but acknowledge a lack of consensus in patients maintained on therapeutic warfarin before, during and after the procedure.
