This article examines Furukawa Hideo’s 古川日出男 Umatachi yo, soredemo hikari wa muku de 馬たちよ、それでも光は無垢で (Horses, Horses, in the End the Light Remains Pure, 2011) and Kawakami Hiromi’s 川上弘美 Kamisama 2011神様 2011 (God Bless You, 2011, 2011), two 3.11 narratives which employ intertextuality to construct radical counter-narratives to trauma.
