Abstract:

BACKGROUND: Asthma is characterized by variable airflow obstruction and airway hyperresponsiveness in association with airway inflammation under the influence of T(H)2 cytokines. Eosinophilic bronchitis has similar immunopathology to asthma but without disordered airway physiology.
