Correlation of cavitation with ultrasound enhancement of thrombolysis.

Pulsed ultrasound, when used as an adjuvant to recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA), has been shown to enhance thrombolysis in the laboratory as well as in clinical trials for the treatment of ischemic stroke.
