Abstract:

The ability to manipulate plasmons is driving new developments in electronics, optics, sensing, energy, and medicine. Despite the massive momentum of experimental research in this direction, a predictive quantum-mechanical framework for describing electron-plasmon interactions in real materials is still missing.
