Gold nanoparticle-modified carbon nanotubes-modified electrodes. Using voltanunetry to measure the total length of the nanotubes
- Abstract:
- A carbon nanotube (CNT)-modified electrode is made in which a glassy carbon macroelectrode is partially covered with a layer of gold nanoparticle-modified CNTs. The carbon surfaces are passivated so that only the gold nanotubes are electroactive. Linear sweep voltammetry of ferrocyanide is studied using the modified electrode, and the results are interpreted by numerical simulation. It is shown that the voltammetric measurements can measure the total length of the CNTs present on the surface. © 2008 American Chemical Society.
