DETECTING THE IMAGE BOUNDARIES BETWEEN OPTICAL-FLOW FIELDS FROM SEVERAL MOVING PLANAR FACETS

Abstract:
A novel method of image and scene segmentation is presented which detects boundaries in the image between optical flow fields from different moving planar facets in the scene. It is based on parts of recent structure-from-motion algorithm and with simple quasi image processing provides a stable segmentation with intrinsic noise of several per cent in the optical flow. The method is suitable for implementation on parallel architectures. © 1986.
