Fluid-mechanics Simulations of Ventricular Function under LVAD Support

Abstract:

LVAD implantation is often used to assist patients suffering heart failure. These devices profoundly alter ventricular behaviour, however, the precise impact on the myocardium and on ventricular blood flow remains unknown.
