LASER-INDUCED FLUORESCENCE FROM CO(A-PI-1)

Abstract:
Vacuum UV fluorescence has been observed from CO(A 1 Π) following UV laser excitation of high vibrational levels of the ground (X 1∑+) state formed in the reaction between oxygen atoms and CS radicals. This scheme of up-conversion of UV to vacuum-UV radiation has potential applications in the operation of a CO(A-X) electronic laser. © 1981.
