Structural studies on pyruvate kinase

Abstract:

Pyruvate kinase from brewers' yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae or Saccharomyces carlsbergensis) is an allosteric enzyme that is activated by fructose diphosphate. The reaction velocity is sigmoidally dependent on the concentration of the substrate phosphoenolpyruvate in the absence of the activator.
