Electrochemical anion sensing in solution and at receptive interfaces

Abstract:

This thesis describes the investigation of halogen bonding and hydrogen bonding anion receptors for the electrochemical sensing of anions in solution and at receptor-modified electrodes.

Chapter 1 introduces the general concepts of supramolecular host-guest chemistry and electrochemical anion sensing. A range of voltammetric, impedimetric and potentiometric anion sensors and their basic operational principles are discussed.

Chapter 2 describes redox-active f...
